Choosing a High Definition TV
When shopping for a major appliance such as a High Definition television there are many questions that you may have as to how to pick and choose one over the other and hopefully this article will help you make some informed decisions about how to do just that.
- The first thing to consider is where you will be placing the HDTV. Ask yourself what size screen will fit in this area. Just by answering this one question could be the driving force in your decision.
- The second thing to consider when choosing between a Plasma or a LCD TV is at what angles people will be sitting at to watch TV. A Plasma tv has the widest viewing angle and a LCD TV has a viewing angle of about 45° degrees.
- The third thing to consider is where will you be hanging the HDTV on the wall or from a ceiling? Plasma weight more than LCD TVs.
- The forth thing to consider when choosing a HDTV, will it be used for gaming. If so a LCD TV would be the better choice, because a Plasma TV can cause "temporary image retention".
If after going through the checklist from above and you can still choose either Plasma or LCD TV the Plasma will be the one that offers a better quality picture.
Did you know that HDTV are capable of "theater-quality" sound and that they are more like a theater in quality than a conventional television.
They offer a much better quality picture which in turn means the picture will be less blurred or fuzzy. The colors are more natural and richer and picture has a smoother motion. Plus they offer surround sound and can allow for a variety of input devices.
Did you know that HD programming and films can be offered in a 16:9 widescreen format (letterbox) , 4:3 ratio pillar box.
Just a few months ago I purchased my first plasma television and must say the picture quality is excellent. I give HDTV a big
